Regional competition provides an important bridge between provincial participation and national-level touch football. Regional tournaments bring together talented players and teams from different provinces, creating opportunities to compete against stronger opposition and experience a higher standard of competition.At this level, players can further develop their technical skills, tactical awareness, fitness, teamwork and ability to perform in competitive environments.

Regional competitions can also support talent identification, allowing promising athletes to demonstrate their abilities as they work towards higher representative opportunities.The regional pathway also contributes to the development of coaches, referees and officials while strengthening cooperation between touch football associations across Papua New Guinea.

TFPNG aims to use regional competition as an important development platform connecting provincial participation with national-level opportunities.
