Provincial touch football provides the next important stage in the development pathway, giving players opportunities to compete at a higher level and represent their local associations and provinces.Provincial leagues, competitions and championships bring together players from different communities and provide regular competitive environments where athletes can further develop their technical ability, teamwork, fitness and understanding of the game.

These competitions can also provide opportunities for coaches and selectors to identify talented players with the potential to progress further through the Touch Football PNG pathway.Provincial competition strengthens the sport beyond individual communities by building stronger associations, developing officials and creating pathways towards regional and national competition.

Through strong provincial competitions, TFPNG aims to provide players throughout Papua New Guinea with opportunities to develop, compete and progress within the sport.
